Encore! Music Studio, founded by Dr. Cara Davis, is a haven for voice and piano students, from those beginning their musical journey to advanced performers. Encore! provides virtuosic and accomplished musical training at an affordable rate.
Cara's musical adventure started at the age of four, when she started singing in her home church in Wisconsin. Soon after, she began playing piano and advanced to the point of accompanying her school choirs in elementary school, singing throughout her home state, and winning accolades as a pianist and soloist in regional and state competitions throughout middle and high school. Music became her passion.
Cara's musical education continued at the university level, where she graduated summa cum laude with an undergraduate degree in piano and voice performance. After several years of teaching music at an international boarding school, she went on to complete her Master's Degree in Vocal Performance and a Doctor of Music Education.
Her experience encompasses a successful 16-year teaching career with the University of Wisconsin system, teaching choral music, voice, class piano, music theory, and aural skills. She also designed online classes in Rock and Roll History and Music Fundamentals. Her choirs saw unprecedented growth in numbers and experience. Her private students won numerous competitions, and many went on to successful university, graduate school, and performance careers.
Cara has also performed throughout the United States as a pianist and soprano. She's given recitals at the prestigious Green Lake Festival of Music, acted in numerous musical theater and opera productions, and has recently performed in the World Premiere of "A Canon for Racial Reconciliation" with Cappella Romana in Portland and Seattle.
She recently moved to the Richmond, Virginia area, where she is Music Director and Organist at Immanuel Episcopal Church.
